Why Myron exists
Tracking apps don't fail for lack of features — they fail because logging feels like bookkeeping. Myron removes the keyboard: "scrambled eggs from three eggs and two slices of whole-grain bread" is recognized and logged as you say it — on the iPhone, or between two sets right on the Apple Watch. It was built by a single developer in Germany who tracks and trains every day and was done with typing.
Every Sunday the AI coach takes an honest look at the week: weight trend against goal, actual calorie expenditure (back-calculated from weight history and nutrition instead of merely estimated), training volume per muscle group, and recovery from resting heart rate, HRV and sleep. Its recommendations follow an evidence-based playbook with a quarterly literature review — documented under Methodology.
The name: Myron of Eleutherae, the ancient sculptor of the Discus Thrower — the app shapes the body, and the human first name makes the voice coach addressable ("Hey Myron, eighty kilos, eight").
What makes it different, in three points
- Voice-first, on-device: speech recognition entirely on the device — the privacy counterpart to cloud dictation.
- Official German food data: government nutrient values and everyday portions ("one slice", "a medium apple") instead of translated US databases.
- A coach that actually pays attention: a weekly review from real history data (adaptive expenditure, recovery, volume) with one-tap adjustments — no generic tips.
